god, life is weird. oh well, it's okay.. i'm liking it so far, i guess.
I've recently realized how funny things turned out this year. I know i would've definitely ended with the same friends with or without the existence of my cool crazy friend lau. I feel they belong to me, somehow; they're my kind of people. I have to admit i'm a little sad about the fact that i ADORE a lot of them and i won't be here much longer. And i've been hurt but i'm growing, so it's fine. big cliche, but that's life i guess. i'm desperately in love with the sun (i even think i might be having issues). I can't wait for the spring to come, but i'm loving the end of the winter. Overall i'm just happy to be alive.
Listening to a LOT of Elliott Smith, and enjoying the new ways my body is reacting to that band daniel told me about (Iron and Wine). Going to sleep with radiohead and waking up with chemical bros. Nice rhythm in general.
Some ups and downs in general. I seriously need a break. I need to think. I'd like more time to read. I'd like to travel more. I'm leaving in 4 months. I should go camping. I should go to the rock. I need to start going to the river again (who cares about the snow, he). I should meditate more. I miss home a little, but i love it here. Can't get enough of Shakespeare, loving French, and i'm discovering new stuff thanks to O'D and political philo (ooh yess, HOW THE MIND WORKS).
I'm trying to drop some of the blinding romanticism that could harm me, and i think it's working out fine. Still keeping some of it of course (it's nice to release energy through it sometimes). Hard to be realistic, but definitely worth it.
